Deputy President Ramaphosa not scheduled to visit Lesotho today Friday 12 September 2014
Pretoria - In response to media enquiries suggesting that Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled to visit the Kingdom of Lesotho today, Friday 12 September 2014, the office wishes to state on record that nothing is further from the truth. Deputy President Ramaphosa is not scheduled to visit the Kingdom of Lesotho today Friday 12 September 2014.
Following the recent developments in the Kingdom of Lesotho, President Jacob Zuma has been tasked by SADC in his capacity as the Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security to assist the coalition leaders in Lesotho to find a peaceful and amicable resolution to the political and security challenges facing the country.
In pursuance of this objective, President Jacob Zuma will be convening a sitting of the SADC Double Troika Summit plus the DRC and the United Republic of Tanzania on Monday, 15 September 2014 in Pretoria. The Summit will among others consider the latest political developments in the SADC region and in particular the political and security situation in the Kingdom of Lesotho as well as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
