Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa to launch the International Aids Conference (Aids 2016)

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will tomorrow, 27 October 2014, launch the 21st International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2016) at a Media briefing to be held at the Emoyeni Conference Centre in Parktown, Johannesburg at 09h00.

The conference is organised by the International AIDS Society (IAS), together with its partners from the UN family, the South African Government, and international civil society organizations.  

The 21st International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2016), to be held in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province in July of 2016, will be returning a decade and a half after it was last held in the same city.

Deputy President Ramaphosa will be supported by Professor Chris Beyrer, President of International AIDS Society and International Chair, AIDS 2016; Dr Olive Shisana, CEO of the Human Sciences Research Council, South Africa and Local Co-Chair, AIDS 2016 and Brian Brink, Chief Medical Officer at Anglo American.
