Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa to embark on Public Employment Project Site Visit in Whittlesea, Eastern Cape
Eastern Cape - Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Public Employment Programme Inter-Ministerial Committee (PEP IMC), will tomorrow, Friday 09 June 2017 conduct his 5th PEP Antipoverty site visits to Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) projects in the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality in Whittlesea (Hewu) in the Eastern Cape.
The aim of the visit is for the Deputy President to interact with participants of various Expanded Public Works Programmes and visit the programme’s sites to assess their impact it terms of alleviating poverty and providing employment to the people of the Eastern Cape.
The visit by the Deputy President also is aimed at inspiring hope in the lives of both the participants of the Public Employment Programmes and the communities who benefit from them.
The PEP-IMC, chaired by Deputy President Ramaphosa, includes Ministers who are responsible for securing greater synergy among public employment programmes.
