We join the people of South Africa, citizens beyond our borders as well as all music lovers and especially lovers of traditional music as they celebrate with pride the 36th Anniversary of the Soul Brothers; Imitshotshovu yoqobo ngoqobo, Oganda-ganda base-Ningizimu Afrika!
Zinsizwa zama- Soul Brothers, siyanihalalisela kakhulu ekufinyeleleni kwenu kuleligxathu! Iminyaka engamashumi amathathu nesithupha ayimpumelelo emculweni ayandele muntu. Ikhombisa ikhono nokuzimisela okuyisimangaliso! Siyanibongela kakhulu.
The South African musical landscape, especially uMbhaqanga genre is richer because of the mammoth contribution of the Soul Brothers.
I especially appreciate your messages of community building, social cohesion, respect for human life and dignity as well as their beautiful rendition of daily life chronicles that are always imbued in every song and every album since 1976, when the group was formed.
We thank you for putting the uMbhaqanga genre of music on the pedestal and among the greatest.
We also remember fondly the late Ukhozi presenter Cyril Kansas City Mchunu who so loved the group and coined most of its praises.
We wish you many more productive years in the industry.
Sithi unwele olude Mitshovutshovu yoqobo ngoqobo!
