President Cyril Ramaphosa to attend Armed Forces Inter-Faith Service
Kimberley – President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Sunday, 18 February 2018, attend the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) Inter- Faith Service at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre in Kimberley, Northern Cape.
The Armed Forces Inter-Faith service is hosted by the SANDF as part of the build-up to the official commemoration of Armed Forces Day on Wednesday, 21 February 2018, which commemorates the sinking of the SS Mendi in 1917, in which a large number of soldiers lost their lives.
During this period, the SANDF will embark on a number of activities aimed at:
• Uniting all citizens behind the armed forces;
• Providing a platform for members of the SANDF to interact with schools and the broader community and
• Showcasing military careers and opportunities.
