Deputy President Mabuza to reply to oral questions in the NCOP
Deputy President David Mabuza will tomorrow, 21 June 2018, reply to oral questions in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) in Parliament, Cape Town. During the session, Deputy President Mabuza will update the nation on various matters as the Leader of Government Business.
Among the issues Deputy President Mabuza will update the nation on is the progress made in the implementation of the Community Works Programme (CWP), which is expected to create one million jobs by 2019, targeting mostly the youth and women who constitute the biggest number of unemployed people in the country.
The Deputy President will also outline government’s plans to ensure persons who are employed through the Expanded Public Works Programme are hired on a fair and equal basis.
In addition, Deputy President Mabuza will address various questions on progress regarding land reform and redistribution in the country.
The Deputy President will conclude by providing an update on government’s engagements with the Human Resource Development Council of South Africa, which he chairs, on seeking to leverage potential economic benefits of the 4th Industrial Revolution, especially in assisting with government efforts to rebuild and reengineer the economy in order to create more work opportunities.
