Minister of Justice to address Women Judicial Officers
The Minister of Justice, Adv Michael Masutha, will today, Tuesday, 07 August 2018, address a gala dinner hosted by the South African Chapter of the International Association of Women Judges (SAC-IAWJ) at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
Minister Masutha will address the gathering on behalf of President Cyril Ramaphosa who has conveyed his apologies for not being able to attend this event, due to the schedule of the session in Pretoria of the Cabinet Lekgotla.
The purpose of the gala dinner is to raise funds for Sexual and Gender Based Violence programmes run by the SAC-IAWJ at schools in the Gauteng Province.
SAC-IAWJ is an Association of Women Judicial Officers that includes Magistrates and Judges, established in 2004 for the purpose of "Advancing Human Rights and Equality for All" in South Africa.
The dinner forms part of a diverse range of events nationwide in support of Women’s Month 2018 which is being observed under the theme “100 Years of Albertina Sisulu, Woman of Fortitude: Women United in Moving South Africa Forward”.
